Meet Some of Speakers
Philip Mirvis – Your Study Tour Guide
Phil Mirvis, organizational psychologist and senior research fellow at Boston College Center for Corporate Citizenship, will act as this year’s Study Tour Guide. Phil is an advisor to businesses in the US, Europe, Asia, and Australia, and he has authored eight books on his studies including his most recent, Beyond Good Company: Next Generation Corporate Citizenship (with Bradley Googlins and Steve Rochlin). Throughout the Study Tour Phil will act as your learning guide, providing insights and asking questions with the aim of enhancing your learning experience. In the areas of social responsibility/corporate citizenship, Phil has worked with the Chief Executives of Ben & Jerry’s, the Royal Dutch Shell Group, and Unilever and with the SK Group (South Korea). He has convened a two year, multi-company forum on integrating citizenship into the business and another on corporate branding. His is presence will surely contribute to an exciting Study Tour!
Mark Hurst
Founder & President, Creative Good
Widely credited for popularizing "customer experience" online, Mark Hurst has worked since the birth of the Web to make Internet technology easier to use. In 2002, Hurst was named "one of the 1,000 most creative individuals in the U.S." in Richard Saul Wurman's book 1,000. InfoWorld magazine named Hurst Netrepreneur of the Year in 1999. When Mark Hurst founded Creative Good in 1997, it was the world's first user experience consulting firm. He runs Creative Good with Phil Terry in New York City. Previously, Hurst was director of product development at Yoyodyne, an early Internet marketing firm founded by Seth Godin and later bought by Yahoo. Hurst began his Internet career as a graduate researcher at the MIT Media Lab. He holds bachelor's and master's degrees in computer science from MIT.
Charles J. Fombrun
Chief Executive Officer and co-founder of Reputation Institute
Dr. Fombrun is a former Professor of Management at NYU's Stern School of Business where he was on the standing faculty from 1984 to 2004. He was also Professor of Management at The Wharton School from 1979 to 1984. Dr. Fombrun is the author of numerous books, including the path-breaking best-seller Reputation: Realizing Value from the Corporate Image, first released by Harvard Business School Press in 1996. Dr. Fombrun has published hundreds of articles in leading management journals, and is the creator of reputation management systems used by many companies around the world.
John Foley
Chief Executive Officer and Strategic Consultant, LEVEL
John has spent his career building powerful brands and reputations while using his innovative skills to design new methods to build lasting relationships for his clients. John is the author of the book “Balanced Brand” and is a keynote speaker throughout the United States and Europe on brand and reputation.
